Learn about our upcoming eclipses

The President of the Westchester Amateur Astronomers, Karen Seiter, will give a timely lecture about eclipses October 3 at 7pm. Eleven days later, there will be a partial solar eclipse here where approximately 20% of the Sun will be covered by the moon. Next Spring, however, will be the big one. Although it will be a total eclipse in upstate New York, 90% of the Sun will be covered here. Looking directly at the Sun leads to blindness, so Ms. Seiter will also explain how to observe eclipses safely. At the end of the program, each participant will receive one pair of eclipse glasses.
