Event Details

Joyce Raimondo, Education Coordinator, presents early drawings by Pollock and Krasner, followed by hands-on activities designed to improve skills of observation and show a range of drawing techniques. Artists of all levels welcomed. The library will not provide any supplies. You only need to sign up once and you will get the Zoom link the evening before for each session. 

Friday, January 20th 2 pm FACE IT! DRAWING Learn the basic of drawing the human head, face, and facial features. Understand universal proportions that will improve you ability to draw a portrait in one session.

Friday, January 27th 2 pm CAPTURE THE POSE: FIGURE DRAWING  Improve your ability to draw people from observation in one session! Learn drawing techniques that help you capture the figure in motion and expressive poses. We will begin with a slide show exploring how artists such as Matisse capture the essence of the pose to emphasize feeling. Working along side Joyce Raimondo on Zoom, we will then learn various techniques for drawing the figure.
