The French Revolution led to the rise of modern nationalism, the spread of liberalism, and the notion that achieving consensus on social equality in society is complex and important. Join historian Martin H.  Levinson in discussing these ideas and how the French Revolution changed the way we think about governance and the rights of people in society.

Martin H. Levinson has written and lectured extensively on topics of historical interest. He is currently teaching courses at Stony Brook University for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. He holds a PhD from NYU and lives in Riverhead, New York.  This presenter will NOT be at the library in person.
