Joyce Raimondo, Education Coordinator, presents a series of workshops. Following each presentation, participants will create their own art on Zoom. 

BIRDS OF CREATIVITY WORKSHOP (Tuesday, September 19th at 2 pm)

How do artists portray the imagery and symbolism of birds in creative ways? Following a presentation featuring Lee Krasner, Paul Klee, Hilma af Klimt and other modern artists, create  a painting or drawing using bird imagery as a springboard for imagination.  Have drawing or paint supplies on hand. Photograph of a bird is optional. 

VIVA LA VIDA! (LIVE LIFE) FRIDA KAHLO WORKSHOP (Tuesday, October 3rd at 2 pm)

Celebrate the art of Mexico’s most famous female artist -- Frida Kahlo. Learn about the what she and Lee Krasner share in common. Discover how Kahlo told the dramatic story of her life in amazing paintings. Then create your own picture story that tells a memory in your life in an imaginative way. 

MORE THAN A PRETTY FACE: POLLOCK, PICASSO, AND CUBISM WORKSHOP (Tuesday, October 17th at 2 pm)

Why would a woman have a blue face or two noses? Discover the meaning behind Picasso’s portraits and his influence on Pollock. Then create a unique Cubist face that expresses emotion using cut paper collage. Have supplies on hand: paper for your project, assorted colored papers to cut, glue and scissors, paint supplies, or draw.
