Event Details

Considering the turbulence of these times, it might be a good idea for everyone to have a better understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of our society. College of the Holy Cross Professor Lawrence Cahoone’s course of 36 lectures should help. It begins with “Origins and Conflicts of Modern Politics” and ends with the, hopefully self-evident by that time, “Why Political Philosophy Matters.”  Every two weeks we will watch two lectures followed by a discussion. You can watch them at the Library or download them from LibbyHoopla or Kanopy. The discussions will start at 11:15 after the showing and will be in person or on Zoom simultaneously.  A lecture schedule, suggested readings and possible questions for discussion are available on our Great Courses page. You will also get a sneak preview of our new web page design.

Registration is not required unless you are going to participate via Zoom or want a reminder of upcoming lectures.
